The
Haunting
A terribly weak remake of
a horror classic with Dream Works clearly attempting to make
a horror movie for kids. A contradiction in terms as Speed
director Jan De Bont just can't save this movie from turning
out to be a laughing stock and devoid of any thrills or chills.
Sadly Goldsmith's score is left in limbo devoid of any chills
itself and left to scoring the gentler moments. It's quite sweet
in places and the Carousel proves to be an interesting opening.
Things get a little more exciting for the finale but the movie
is so bad that even the music begins to suffer. A cruel assignment.
