Freud Deluxe Edition CD From Varese

One of Jerry Goldsmith's earliest scores, and the composer's first Oscar nomination finally makes it to an official CD release from Varese Sarabande's CD Club. Goldsmith's challenging work for John Huston's biopic has only been on LP and a poorly produced boot CD before, both long out of print. This impressive disc features extra music not heard on either album before. The source is largely stereo with a handful of mono cues. Limited to 3000 copies.

Inner Space Complete Score CD From La-La Land!!!

Wow! La-La Land deliver another stunning Jerry Goldsmith CD release! The original Inner Space soundtrack album only had a small amount of score, plus a handful of songs and not surprisingly missed out on some thrilling action and adventure scoring from the maestro of the genre. Now La-La Land right another wrong in the world of film music and present the full score. Incredible! Thanks to all who made this fantastic release possible. Limited to 3000 copies.

Order from La-La Land 1st December!

I.Q. And Seconds CD From La-La Land

Two previously unavailable scores from the Paramount archive debut on one CD that are musically poles apart. I.Q. (1994) was one of only two latter Goldsmith career scores not to make it to CD at the time of the movie's release, the other being The Vanishing. Goldsmith's humorous and affectionate little score adds Rock And Roll and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to the proceedings for a light hearted listen.

In complete contrast Seconds (1966) is a score thought missing in action. Though sadly in mono and from one of the least favoured sources when it comes to soundtrack production Mike Matessino has worked wonders to give fans the very best possible presentation of a Goldsmith classic for the John Frakenheimer acclaimed chiller.

Limited to 3000 copies. So order from La-La Land Today!

'Ave Satani' 2nd In Poll Of Scariest Movie Music

Jerry Goldsmith's 'Ave Satani' from The Omen was voted as the second scariest film theme tune or 'song' in a recent poll conducted by PRS For Music, which collects royalties on behalf of composers and songwriters in the UK. Bernard Herrmann's legendary music for the shower scene in Psycho took the top spot.

The score was previously available as a 16 minute suite on the Planet Of The Apes CD also from Varese. An earlier boot featured the full score in mono. Rent-A-Cop Complete Score From Intrada

Intrada has announced a re-issue of one of their earliest albums. Rent-A-Cop was one of sadly many minor assignments for the great Jerry Goldsmith during the mid to late 80s. Intended to re-launch both Burt Reynolds and Liza Minnelli's flagging big screen careers it disappeared fairly quickly from the cinemas and barely made it to video.

Goldsmith's contribution is the best thing about the whole film. A soaring main theme highlighting trumpet contrasts with gritty action and eerie suspense favouring electronics. Intrada presents the missing score left off the first release plus a couple of source cues conducted by the composer.

In Harm's Way Soundtrack From Intrada

Fittingly for Intrada's 100th Special Collection CD they have announced a Jerry Goldsmith title. In Harm's Way was previously only available on CD from the Japanese SLC Label. This CD has long since been out of print and even though it sounded pretty good was mastered from tape and LP sources. Intrada's superlative CD presentation is mastered from the first generation 2 track stereo masters. Intrada point out that even though the Paramount vaults have opened the actual tapes for the score have been lost so there was no chance of any extra music. Still In Harm's Way is one of those perfectly presented soundtrack albums. A stunning mix of dramatic Goldsmith military action, a gorgeous love theme and infectious toe tapping period source music. Don't hesitate to either upgrade your SLC release or own this wonderful album for the first time.

Sebastian Announced By Harkit

Controversial soundtrack producer Harkit Records have officially announced their CD issue of the Sebastian soundtrack featuring a swinging sixties Jerry Goldsmith score. The CD is a re-issue of the DOT LP content but includes some extra elements of the Tristram Cary cue Sputnik Code. No word on whether this is from an LP source. The package is rounded out with a 'sumptuous' booklet.

Let us wait and see if Intrada can come to our rescue on this score in the future. And now the Paramount vault seems to be opening lets hope they can discover the original film soundtrack too.

But if you can't wait order now from Harkit Records.

One Little Indian Sold Out!

It took a little longer than usual but Intrada's superlative release of Jerry Goldsmith's score to One Little Indian has now sold out, taking just under two weeks. If you missed it then check the other leading soundtrack dealers or EBay of course!

Is Sebastian Now Coming To CD?

It seems one of the last LP soundtracks featuring a Jerry Goldsmith score may be finally coming to CD. The Dusty Groove's website lists the CD of the swinging sixties spy comedy Sebastian for a late April release. No label has been announced but some believe it is British based Harkit Records. However, there is a concern that the release is not being properly licensed as the title resides with UMG who own the DOT label catalogue. Doug Fake at Intrada revealed that he is in the process of looking into releasing this title but may be beaten to it. Though I'm sure most fans will remain loyal to Intrada and buy their version too. If and when that comes out.

Twilight Zone The Movie Complete Score

Another Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack release hot on the heels of Intrada's One Little Indian. It never rains but it pours! This time the complete score to Twilight Zone The Movie produced by famed soundtrack restorer Mike Matessino. Although the score had a very successful soundtrack album release at the time of the movie and a couple of CD re-issues in later years Goldsmith's superlative fantasy score is a must in this definitive form. FSM have gone back to the "first generation masters" and restored the score as originally recorded - adding the missing score, the two songs, one previously unreleased by John William's son Joseph, plus the original album tracks. Rounded out with notes by Matessino and Jeff Bond. Limited to 3000 copies.

One Little Indian Soundtrack From Intrada!

Another Intrada Goldsmith coup! The very first soundtrack release of the little known Disney family adventure from 1973 - One Little Indian. Jerry Goldsmith provides one of his trademark western scores brimming with action and adventure but this time adding comedy into the mix. Intrada present the entire score in stunning stereo from the 2" masters. Personally mixed by Goldsmith's friend and regular engineer Bruce Botnick! As per usual with Intrada expect the release to be rounded out with informative notes and dynamic presentation. Wow indeed!
